Can tell I mowed my yard yesterday.  Riding mower + rough ground = sore back next morning.

Nothing major to mention.  Dr. Kuhn reminded me about not drinking with meals.  Says doing so turns everything into a slider.  Been more conscientious about doing so.

Headed off to do four mile walk with lady friend in Corsicana.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

10 Weeks Post Surgery Update

506.5: All time high 9/9/9
492.4: Tufts Program Start 9/20/10
457.0: Surgery day 2/7/11
404.8: Last Week 4/10/11
401.0: This Week 4/17/11 - 3.8 lbs lost this week

91.4 lbs lost since starting the Tufts program.
105.5 lbs lost from my all time highest weight.

Another awesome week of weight loss.  Down another 3.8 lbs.  I love this consistancy!  I will be in the 300's next week for the first time since early 2006 when I had done the MediFast diet and lost a bunch of weight.  My lowest weight that year was around 360 but I was so sick of MediFast shakes that I couldn't do it any more and gained all the weight back within the next year.  The problem with that whole plan is that first it was unsustainable long term, there was no emphasis on eating a balanced diet/ mindful eating and there was really no exercise emphasized during it.  Destined to fail at that program...

It was another good week for my diet.  I have been slowly introducing new foods.  I am so much more aware of what is going in my mouth and whether or not it is good for me.  My wife had brought some low fat chips into the house and they were on the counter all week taunting me.  Unfortunately I discovered that I could eat them.  They are going to be put away from now on and won't be as accessable to me.  Out of site out of mind.  If I don't see them then I have no desire to eat them.  Still haven't got enough will power to just look at them and avoid them.  Damn...  My tool does help though as in my previous life I would have eaten most, if not all, of the bag.  This time I had a couple of chips and left the rest...  Baby Steps...

I wasn't able to get to the gym as much as I would have liked this week as I had to put my extra time into getting my business taxes and personal taxes done.  I know no excuses but I did make it to the gym on two days.  On Friday I did 45 minutes on the elliptical (a new record for me) and then did a complete nautilus circuit with the 3 sets of each machine.  It felt really good!!  I also went to two softball practices and moved a bit with the kids.  At least I am no longer sitting in my chair on the sidelines!!

Went to a Bat Mitvah Saturday for our cousin.  It was great and she did wonderful. Mazel Tov!   I'll let you know that I was fretting all week about what I was going to wear.  For those who know my I know you are saying "Yeah right you worry about what you are going to wear!!!"   My jackets were all made for someone that was 100 lbs heavier and looked ridiculous on me.  I didn't want to go out and buy a new jacket that would be too big in a couple of months and looked into renting a suit but that was around $150 for the day.  Just not worth it and I figured I'd just wear a nice sweater vest or something.  Well, was I surprised when I was getting rid of all of my 6X shirts and cycling forward my 5X shirts and came across an old sportscoat that fit me perfectly.  After a trip to the dry cleaners and $6 later I had my jacket and believe it or not I can't believe a time when a sport coat fit me so well.  I felt great going to an event for the first time in years!!  Just the motivation I needed to hit the gym like crazy this week!!

I want to describe the food and drinks at the Bat Mitvah as I had packed some shakes but wanted to try and make things work with what was there.  Immediately following the Bat Mitvah there was a little Kiddush (or reception) and I had some tuna fish, egg salad, 1/2 pumpernickel bagel with a little cream cheese and a little cole slaw.   It all went down fine and the key that I've found for eating any bready stuff is to eat teeny, tiny (and I mean teeny) bites and chew them well.   For dinner there was a buffet style where you bring your plate up and take what you want.   I took a cup of minestrone soup, a couple roasted potatoes (didn't eat), some sauteed vegetables (delicious), some baked fish (very dry and didn't eat) and a meatball (yummy).  I took my time and did well.   On the way home, I was hungry and afraid I hadn't met my protein for the day so my wife gave me one of my eas Myoplex shakes for the ride home.  Perfect day and the kids had a blast!!  Oh yeah, I had a blast as well and was back out on the dance floor quite a bit of time.  The only thing bothering me was my damn sciatica.   I am going to beat that injury soon.   I don't have time for it!!  :-)

That's about it for this week and hope that everyone else has a great week.

L'Chaim (To Life)!

The scale has finally begun to move again. Down 1.7 lbs from last week. Had a busy week in Orlando for a conference. Ended up at Universal. Great wow moment went on all the Foster's and rides. First time I could in 11 years. Get another shot at it in a couple weeks when I go back down for my daughter's dance competition.

Total Loss: 112.3 lbs (from highest weight)

Still dropping slowly after reaching my doctor’s goal weight. I’m happy with the progress and continued loss. My personal goal is to get to 190 lbs.

I’ve lost the equivalent of a 2-month old horse and a bald eagle.

Good weight loss week for me, although I did have a couple of bad pouch days where anything I ate didn't sit well. On the positive side, I had to buy smaller pants again or rIsk a wardrobe malfunction. My saggy stomach skin still keeps me in a larger waist size than I'd like, but I've gone from a size 60 to a 40 in pants and from a 6X to an XL in shirts. My goal for waist size is 38, so it's now within reach. I'm currently looking for a plastic surgeon who will transplant my excess stomach skin onto my penis for extra length. Then I'll really be smiling...

135 down total

It was another "normal" week.  Had my 3 month check up Thursday and everything is going good.  Nut told me to stat introducing veggies and fruit.  Do they only check your levels if your having issues? We had 1 of our family easters today and I got losts of good feedback and not 1 you look good.  I HATE that phrase.

have a great week everyone!!!
