Before & Now
Wow! You've done great. Since you started out as super-moorbidly obese, you can expect to lose weight quickly in the early stages of being post-op. Still your rate of loss is extraordinary. You should start slowing down on the rate of loss at around 6 mos post-op. You can still continue to lose due to the RNY for about 18 mos post-op and may even be able to lose some more weight like any other person after that.
You seem to have set reasonable goals for your weight. Do not get frustrated if you start to hit some stalls. Also, do not compare your weight to other men's weight. Remember that you started out at a higher weight than they did ( one of my problems and I knew it would be a problem even before I had the RNY ). Now that it has been several months since your RNY, your strength should be back.
Good luck with the activities with your kids. I know one guy down in FL who was overjoyed when he was able to play basketball with his teenage sons. That ranks right up there with the runners and cyclists. Do what you enjoy doing. And, stay active.
