14 weeks out and down 103lbs

So I had the VSG on 12-29-10 and am now down 103lbs. Granted I started  out at 421, so I still have a long way to go, but, honestly, just a few months ago I would have never thought I would lose 100lbs by any means. Even though I am still very obese by most standards I feel a lot better compared to how I was, I feel more "normal". I started weight lifting after about a month and now do weight training 3x a week and intervals on the eliptical. I think running intervals is what is really kinda "turbo charged" my losing lately. I still hate going to the gym and I still hate doing cardio, buy I am liking the results too  much to give up. I am hoping that even as the results wain I'll have devoloped a habit of working out that superceeds my desire to sit around. Heres to the next 100lbs!

Way to go!!  I remember shaking my head many times is disbelief...Thinking this WLS will work on others...but I'm different.  I may drop 40-50 pounds but then stop.  Skies the limit...

Congrats!   Looks like we're on the same path - working hard as hell and having it show up in major weight loss.  I started about 2 weeks ahead of you w/ my VSG on 11/24 - I'm down 115 lbs. as of today.  I wll enjoy "braggin' rights" at the WLS support group tonight.  You "keys" and mine are the same - work hard, sweat, hurt, ache, ***** (take a pill, if necessary) and then work harder.  I'm 65 and I know there's no magic "weight fairy" who's going to sprinkle non-carb diet dust all over my ass to make me thinner.  Sleevie & me - we've got to do it together.
I'm leaving soon for a week in the sun on the beach and golf course in ***** Cana - I'll be a smaller whale this year, and a much happier one.   Keep it going!

 Do work son!

Seriously nice job. I know what you are saying about loosing a ton of weight and still being fat. We had very similar starting weights I was 423 and I am down to about 315 right now. For me I get upset at times thinking. I have worked hard cut over 100 lbs but still very unhappy with how I look in the mirror.

Keep at it and I am sure we will get to our goals soon enough.

That is awesome.  Do you mind explainining what your intervals on the elliptical are?  I have been working out on the elliptical as it seems to be the best work out and doesn't cause me any leg pain.  Thanks and good luck on the next 100 lbs.
