Does Bougie Size Matter (for VSGers)?

Hey guys,

I have a few days left till my VSG surgery and have been wondering if Buogie size matters for the VSG.  I will be getting a 40fb and was wondering if I will have enough restriction to lose the weight but also be able to eat more than 3 tablespoons of food and get all my calories in that men need to stay healthy.

Your thoughts would be helpful.  Thanks.

In my honest opinion. I don't think it makes a difference. I think it's the habits that you develop. What many of the successful VSG'er do is eat until they are satisfied not until you are full. This plus exercise is what makes the difference. You don't want to get to the point where you overeat. That's a miserable existence.

BTW...I have a size 38f

One of the ladies on the VSG maintenance forum maintains a VSG Frequently asked questions doc. There is a section on bougie size...Check it out:

Until a month after surgery I didn't even know what a "bougie" was - no one asked for my opinion or gave me any options.  I'm happy as hell w/whatever size I got - one thing is for sure, it's helping me make more pars and "bogies" on the golf course this year.  It must be the right size - my weight loss is dramatic - or could it be the hard work I do?
