I'm finally coming out of my stall, and I've figured out my problem, I dont think I was getting enough protein in, but i'm back faithful on the protein shakes, and they are doing their job.  12 more lbs and i'll be thrilled to be under 200 lbs.

Tell me about it Bubba!  Mom asked me to take the "pasture buggy" to fill it up over the weekend.  I stopped it at $90.00!  Yes, it has dual tanks.  Figured with it being used mainly in the pastures and short hops maybe to the local hardware store that was enough!

ETA:  Cost another $55.00 to "top off" the truck that I use and one tank was still 3/4 full!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Too true...  And it's even worse for aviation fuel...  It's $5.77 per gallon at our nearby airport!  Holy cow!  Makes $2.79 for diesel seem cheap by comparison!

8 Weeks Post Surgery Update

506.5: All time high 9/9/9
492.4: Tufts Program Start 9/20/10
457.0: Surgery day 2/7/11
411.0: Last Week 3/27/11
408.0: This Week 4/3/11 - 3 lbs lost this week

84.4 lbs lost since starting the Tufts program.
98.5 lbs lost from my all time highest weight.

Have to say that I am very happy with another 3 pounds lost this week. Funny, I was letting that number mess with my mind but someone posted in one of the other forums that 3 lbs a week equals 150 lbs in a year. Geesh, if that stays that way I'll be within 50 lbs of goal by my one year anniversary. That would be amazing. I am really going to step up my exercise this week and looking forward to adding some strength training (nautilus type machines at Planet Fitness).

As you know I have been helping out coaching my daughter's softball team this year. We had fielding practice yesterday and I hit outfield fielding for about an hour and when I was done I was beat! Geesh I didn't realize how out of shape I am. If I'm thinking of the big picture I wouldn't have even been on the field this time last year and was sitting in the stands with my wife. Now, there is a NSV that I can be proud of and my daughter's are so happy that I am doing this that words can't express.

As for eating that is a different story. I am struggling at each meal with trying to get my entire three ounces of meat in. It seems like such a chore to eat that I honestly prefer to just drink a protein shake and be done with it. I am taking in two to three protein shakes a day so that I'm sure I'm meeting my protein goal. I don't meet with my Nutritionist until April 18th and at that point she is likely going to move me to Stage 5 of the Tufts diet which is the 5th and final stage. This is the stage that we start to introduce more and more foods into your diet. It's probably good it is a couple weeks out as I am not 100% ready to be super expirimental (with the emphasis on mental) at this point with food. At this point, I can eat most meat but it is really work. We went to Ruby Tuesday on Friday night and I got the plain petite sirloin, a plain baked potato and steamed broccoli. I ate most of the steak but spit out a lot of gristle. Had about 1/2 the potato (no skin) and a few pieces of broccoli. One thing about mindful eating and chewing your food so much is that you end up feeling any food imperfections in your mouth and I end up spitting that out. I notice this a lot in ground meat. The pieces of bone, etc... Kind of Gross!!

Physically with the surgery I feel 100%. I am still having sciatica pain in my left leg. I would have hoped this would be gone by now. It mostly hurts with a lot of walking (sucks for my cardio) but I am coping. I eased back a bit last week to give it a little rest. Hopefully this will continue to feel better week by week as I lose more weight. I am going to try to do more core strengthening this week to see if that helps as well.

Anyway, I'm slowly but surely taking my life back and it is worth every bit of mental stress that the new post surgery eating challenges bring me. I am looking forward to living life to its fullest and not letting my weight hold me back any more!!
