Delayed Surgery
My surgery was delayed because of a hemoglobin issue being too low. Really disappointing and messes with your mind. Just doing tests now to see why it is low. Been to the gastro guy and he may send me to a hemotologist.
Did any delays happen to anybody and how did you deal with them?
I wanted to give it all up the first couple of days, but now am trying to keep the faith and just see this as a bump in the road.
Thanks for all your ideas and insight.

Rick,
I got scrubbed for two weeks because of sleep apnea. Bama Bob, he does not come around much any more, but he was on the gurney with the IV in his arm and got scrubbed because of an irregular heart beat. He had a previous cardiac issue and better safe than sorry. Your pump quits - you quit. He got his surgery two weeks later after seeing his regular cardio.
You're preaching to the choir about being upset/pissed/peaved. We all sympathize/empathize for/with you. A lot of us have had a pre op issue come up and screw the pooch on the timing of things. That is another thing - time is going to march on. Patience Grasshopper.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
I agree 100% with Don. You want your Docs to catch anything and everything before you are under the knife. They are just doing due diligence. I'd be more afraid if you had an incompetant medical staff and they didn't do these types of tests. Stick to your pre-surgery diet as best you can and just think of every ounce lost as going toward's your ultimate goal. Your surgery date will come and you suffer ups and downs as all of us have but ultimately it will be one of the best things that you've ever done in your life. Keep the faith and stay strong!
I went in to the hospital dec 15 and had a anesthesiologist not be able to get the breathing tube in right. She scratched my throat up and filled my stomach and intestines with gas so my surgeon cancelled because i would've had to have a open procedure. Thankfully he knew how hard I had worked to get to my goal he had set to have lap rny. I got someone elses cancelled spot and had lap rny on Jan 12th (different anesthesiologist) and everything has been great.
Took me 13 months to get a surgery date and it was cancelled 2 weeks b4 the day. Took 2 1/2 monhs to get a new date. The PA was a friend of mine and he said to me "five years fom now this couple of months delay will not make one bit of difference". He was right. Roll with it, it will get done.
