New member - been reading for awhile now.  Surgery is scheduled for Monday and my mood is swinging quite a bit.  I am very much looking forward to this, but with many questions.  Wish me luck.

I wish I knew more about you.  Most of us have tried every other method to lose weight and this is the method of last resort.  In my case, it was the difference between life and death.  If you know of no other way to lose weight and maintain most of that loss, then feel confident with the surgery.

I assume you mean that Monday is tomorrow.  Therefor, there is little time for preparation.  The prep I would suggest is to have your financial affairs in order and to have a medical directive--what to do if anything happens during the operation.  Most hospitals require that.  If you believe in god, make your peace with your god.  That may be the most calming influence going into surgery.  I'm far from being the most religious person around, but as a Roman Catholic I had a priest give me the sacrament of the sick.  Have friends and/or family pray foe you.  This is a big deal!

Good Luck is not enough to say.  Rather, if you have done your homework, be confident as you begin this journey.  Know that you can continue to post here regardless of your progress or of your success.  We are here to support each other.
