Hey gents, wanted to vent a bit.

So I am about 7 weeks out from surgery. I had lunch with a client on Wed at Harry Carey's. I had a bison stew and only ate about a third of it. When I walked out of the restaurant and was headed back on the road, I started to get a pretty intense pain in my abdomen. After 2 minutes on the road, I thought I was having my first bought with dumping. I started to get all tingly in my limbs and was really hot.

I also had this intense feeling of needing to take a dump. Now I should have pulled off the road but I continued to push home, so for the next hour I was fighting to maintain conscious and just get home.

Once home I tried to go to the bathroom and nothing doing. I took a shower and kept trying to go but no dice any time.

After 2 hours of the worst pain in my life I drove to the ER.

Long story short, 1mg of Hydromorphone every 2 hours, 3 CT scans and a couple days in the hospital. It turns out I had Kidney stones.

The good news is I did manage to hit the 100lbs lost category though.

Kidney stones are common post WLS.  It's hard to get in all your liquid, you are eating a high protein diet (high ash), and are eating very little vegetables...All can lead to high uric acid and kidney and bladder stones.  You may need outpatient surgery if they don't pass, or be in the hospital for 1 day...Been there done that.  Brian

Wow, so sorry to hear you had stones. I tried to give birth to some about 15 years ago and it was not pleasant. Worst pain I've ever had.

But, CONGRATS on dropping 100 lbs. That's fantastic and a real milestone. Keep up the good work and keep hydrated to avoid the stones.
