Dr. Amir Moazzez will be my surgeon, they take my insurance, I'll get the VSG. We talked about getting a little bigger one than normal, not that much difference but its what Im comfortable with. I still have to do:

Psych eval
Sleep Study - March 18th

he added a gastro consult to make sure I don't have any ulcers.

I could use some help with the psych eval, what do they ask how do you want to answer. A friend of mine says its complete BS and you think you are there for you, but your really there for them. They just want to make sure you are compotent.

The dr said at the gastro, they will know me out, stick a tube in my throat and stomach and check it out, maybe take a biopsy? Anyone have to do this.

Shoot for a late april early may surgery.

The finance woman said no problem with my insurance. They've actually already talked to them and so lets hope it goes through smoothly They will be submitting the 1st week of April.

So far so good!

Psych is no biggie.  Tell the person that you wanted to have sex with your mother and hear voices nobody else does and you'll be fine!

Sleep study is a bigger pain in the ass.  You're wired up in a contraption that is uncomfortable to say the least.  You have a strap on your chest cutting into your arm pits and if one of the contacts comes undone the nurse/tech attending to you comes in, turns on the light and starts pushing the thing back onto your head.   I said "F##K IT!" and went home about 2:30 AM.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Bluepoint surgical is a great team.  I had surgery with Dr. Halmi.

The psych eval is pretty easy.

Good luck to you

I didn't have the psych eval. Probably for the best since God-knows I'm unstable and like to do inappropriate things. LOL.

I had two sleep studies - apparently they found out they could gouge the insurance company for two and made the extra money when they could. It's actually pretty bizarre to know someone is filming and watching you when you are sleeping. I, however slept like a trooper except for when the nurse had to come to the room and unhook me so I could go to the bathroom. Then, back on with the electrodes. The seond time, somehow she got the wire between my chest and my leg too short and I had to sleep curled up all night so as not to pull the wire loose. She said it wasn't her first time to do one of these, I asked her.

I expect the gastro will be similar to the endoscopies I had done after surgery. They were a piece of cake, not at all painful and I could have driven home had they not been watching me after warning me not to. for one of the endoscopies, I had driven myself and they found out and forced me to call a ride. I called a ride, got into his car under the hospital's careful supervision, and he drove me out of the lot and back into the rear entrance to get my car and drive home. Amazing they can let a nurse's buzzer ring for an hour when you are suffering in the hospital, but they are scared to death you'll sue them if you drive home after an outpatient procedure.

(I told you I was prone to the inappropriate.)

The psych eval is to make sure you don't have unreal expectations.  Some crazies think that losing weight will automatically; magical change their life.  Just be honest and answer all the questions the best you can.  I was amazed at how accurately they assessed me with how stupid the questions seemed to be.

I'm glad you are back on track.  Good luck!  Us crazies will be here for your support when you come out on the dark side like the rest of us.

Glad you found a good doc and that is going well with the insurance.

Agree that a lot of the pre-op stuff is pure BS.  I hated the sleep study and hated the CPAP machine even worse!  The psych eval was pretty straight forward.  Like Don's responses!

Hope all continues to go well for you.  There is a spot here on the losers bench waiting for you!
