"So, what do you weigh now?"
I played another singles tennis match last night, and started off really well (up 4-3), then a switch flipped and I lost 9 straight games. UGH!!!
But afterward the gentleman and I were talking and I mentioned that last year I was lugging an extra 70 pounds around the court. After being astonished at the thought. He looked at me and asked, "So, what do you weigh now? About 230?"
I smiled like a pinata-striking kid inside! I couldn't believe someone else would look me over and 'guess' that I was about 230?!?!?! I know that the scale says I am 227, and so he was right on, but the mirror still makes me believe I haven't done as well as I actually have.
Dam Mindfuk!
Anyway, it was a fine finish to my match, and even took away the sting of getting my ass beaten.

I played in high school and college way back when...Was pretty good. They timed my serve at 100 miles per hour (which is nothing now...Many women pro**** about 130 MPH). About 6 months post op I went out a couple of times and played tennis. I had lost muscle mass. I could move around the court great. I just couldn't pound the ball like before. It never came back...Same with racquetball and my drives in golf. Very frustrating!!
I've been hitting the ball well...however, I don't have 100 mph serves!!
Are you available for training/coaching!?
I have so much more fun with exercise activities rather than just gym/running. So, tennis is a go-to for me. I also do volleyball weekly which is a good time. Would love to find a basketball league that I could do regularly (without putting up with wannabe showoffs.

Congrats Chad! i really is mind blowing how we don't see ourselves as having lost weight. Like NOT stepping on the scale everyday, i sometimes think i should get rid of the mirrors, and not look at myself...ok could be a little hard to shave and comb the hair...anyway, you know what i am trying to say. I does make you feel good when a 'stranger', who didn't know you when you were obese, looks as you with surprise when you share your story.
Any way, keep up the great work and find what you like to do...JUST DO IT!!!
By-the-way...a little bird (he used to be a big bird, but has had great success as well) gave us the news you are running a 5K this weekend. Bust It!!! Run Strong, Run Fast, Run Long, Run Strong!!!
