C25K Check In - week 7
This week was tough.
Three 25 minute jogs.
Mon:
3.07 miles *2.5 running
545 Cals
36:30 mins
6.0/3.3 mph
Wed:
2.95 miles *2.6 running
549 cals
31:40 mins
6.3/3.3 mph
Fri:
Made 24 minutes running...Shoe came untied, and I was too beat to restart...
2.79 miles *2.5 running
469 cals (different treadmill=different calculation)
6.3/3.3 mph
I ran into the mental aspect of this challenge pretty heavily this week. I was not interested in running on Friday and through the whole run kept wanting to give myself reasons to stop...and did at the 24 minute mark. Oh well.
When prompted by an email from my company allowing for early registration for the 10K Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta on July 4th, I mulled it over (and sought suggestions from OH friends) and decided to go ahead and put it on the calendar as a goal. So, that moved me to check out qualifying races. The one that works best for me (aside from being only 7 days away) is one that is only 7 days away! So, rather than my first 5K being in mid-April, it'll be mid-March!!
I'm sure I can do it, and will put in the training miles this week. My goal is to not have to walk at all during the race, and if I can get myself to running 6.6 mph on the treadmill for 3.1 miles, I should be able to handle the distance outside, even if my speed isn't as regulated.
Thanks to all for the encouragement.
