Happy Family Day
Hey guys...
So after 5 years of being in a relationship with a woman (and living with her son from a previous relationship), it finally comes out yesterday that she no longer loves me, and hasn't for awhile.... Needless to say, our conversation got a little heated, and she decided to throw out a couple barbs
"Look at you, you 500lb pile of crap... Do you wonder why I didn't want to have sex with you?" - and the like... [Add: For the record, I'm 319lbs at last weigh in, not 500...]
So ya, a great day. We had a trip coming up on March break that I've cancelled... Fun part is we're probably going to be living in the same house until she can find a place to stay...
On the flip side, I'm still waiting to find out about my endoscopy apt (since Jan 4th) so we can get this surgery moving forward...

Kevin, that's really rough for you. I'm sorry things didn't work out, especially after all this time together. People who are close to us - who have been around us long enough to know where we're vulnerable - really have the ability to hit us where it hurts the most. My recommendation would be to take the high road and don't stoop to her level. It will be tough, but try to refrain from escalating the verbal war - especially since she will be there for a while... But feel free to VENT here with us any time. This is a safe zone, and we're here to help however we can. Here's hoping you get the surgery clearance ASAP.
Ya, thinks definately suck atm. I'm just glad I started my 4 day work schedule today, and then she's out of town this weekend taking her son to a hockey tournament... I cancelled our March Break vacation and have decided to go to Cuba with my friend at the end of March instead... I appreciate the responses and allowing me to vent at this point...

You have a lot more patience than me thats for sure. I would have givven her a week to get out and then changed the locks! If she doesnt love you anymore and wants to split up, thats fine. She could have done this very amically and been fine. There is never a need to go like that.

I want to add my condolences to the others. You deserve better from a relationship, and while it sucks now, it may be better to realize that you will be better off long term with someone *****ally cares about you. Don't let the bull**** weight comment get to you - it was her way of jamming a knife into what she knew to be a soft spot. Good luck with everything.

I realize I'm not perfect... (who is?) and I've never been a really touchy-show your emotions type of guy, but man... to find out from someones lips that they don't love you anymore was pretty harsh...
My buddy is going to Cuba at the end of March and wanted me to go with him... Seriously considering it...
Also called about my endoscopy... the doctor has it, but they haven't gotten around to booking mine... The slowness of this is aggrivating (I've been jumping through hoops since Jan 2010, and now I figure I won't see Hamilton until the fall at this pace. /sigh

I've got to echo the other guy's comments - that totally sucks and you deserve better - I can't imagine having to deal with that.
The good news is that you're almost finished jumping through hoops - stay the course, it WILL be worth the wait and effort - even if it takes until the fall!
Not sure how different Hamilton's program is but I went through Guelph for surgery and the endoscopy was the last real hurdle - after that it was a final review of the pre and post op diet with the NUT and review of the endo results with the surgeon where he gave me the green light and my surgery date was booked.
Sadly, the only bad news is that the surgery won't cure you of being a Habs fan
