Brief feat of athleticism.

This past weekend, my wife and I went to movie.  I couldn't fit into the seat two years ago.
I went shopping at five different stores.  I could barely go to two stores without being exhausted two years ago.
I rode my bicycle fifty miles over the past few days.  The spokes would have been crushed when I weighed 500 pounds.

But I'm getting used to doing those things. I love to do all that.. But sometimes I even forget that my weight loss surgery really helped get me to where I am today.

Do you know what reminded me to be grateful  for my weight loss?

I was getting ready to shower this morning and slipped my briefs off and let them fall to the bathroom floor.
Then i grabbed them with my toes and flipped the underwear into the air and caught them in my hand.

I smiled to myself remembering that I could barely lift my leg up to get into the bathtub, much less use that leg to flip my underwear into the air.

Silly huh?

Brother... My turning point was this past summer at Universal Studios. Me and my kids go to get get on the Hulk ride. (We've always been riding partners, since my wife doesnt like rollercoasters)
I was denied the first time because I couldnt fit in the harness. They sent me to the back to wait for the special "fat person" chair on the next car. Guess what? Didnt fit in that one either.

That was where i drew the line.

Great to hear... Hope you're running marathons in the near future... I know thats one of my goals.

LOL - Not silly at all...  I can definitely relate.  I'm looking forward to being able to get on my bike and ride without immediate PITA...  Soon.  Very soon!

It is those "silly" little things that really hit you sometimes.  You just sit back and say or think, WOW...what a difference!  Congrats on a successful toe-underwear toss!  This should be an olympic event!

Absolutely phenomenal.  Not silly but true victories in the battle.  I too was at one time an avid bike rider and this has been lost.  I can't wait to get to the point where you are at now.  Enjoy each and every well earned victory.  Great job!
