A strange quiet day

 I was jus****ching TV this morning.  I didn't plan on leaving the house due to cold windy weather.  I'm just getting over a cold.  Well,  the day ended up being more quiet than I planned.  We lost power at 11:00am.  I went the first hour without calling the power company figuring that they were probably getting bombarded with calls.  My wife had been shopping and I told her the problem.  I couldn't even call out on our land lines.  I finally decided to call the power company but my wife informed me that a neihbor had just come over and they were out of power too.  The outtage only affected a few blocks.

I really needed sleep and this afforded me the sleep that I needed.  All was sell until darkness came.  My wife strategically set up candles in the house and then she went out for take out food.  By the time she came back we had our power.   Thank God for little favors because she was talking about going to a local hotel rather than staying at home.

When the power did come on, our indoor temp was 36 degrees and it was 35 outside.  It's supposed to get down into the teens outside tonight and the wind is howling.  Yeah, I know I should probably plug up some leaks in my house.  Overall, I'm just happy this minor problem is over.  I'll rest again tomorrow but I'll have the Daytona 500 on in the background.

 Four hours later we lost all power again.  This time it was restricted to a smaller area.  It came back on an hour later and has been fine since then.  We're glad because I didn't want o go outside last night with the temp in the teens.
