Since when did providing information to preops become estrogen ridden? Watching Larry the Cable guy and making fart jokes is great, but sometimes you actually need to do some research before undergoing a life changing procedure.

Maybe this would be more on your level: The DS, so easy even a caveman could do it.

Diana posted this on the RNY forum and worded it this way with an admitted goal which was to increase views.  Everyone knows these are hot topics on the main forums.  I think you will have a hard time finding anyone on this forum that does not encourage pre-ops to do their research on all alternatives.  So a simple repost of this here on the mens forum isn't going to get the same response that it would on the RNY forum.

For what it is worth most men approach these types decisions with quite a different mindset.  I think you will find very few men on this board that had or is going to have their procedure to simply get skinny or look good.  If you read carefully most men are here doing this to improve their life and enjoy things they never had before.

With a couple of these types of here in the past week or so I would say your message was delivered in the wrong manner to the wrong audience.  If you want to tell people to do their research then by all means do it, but simply copying anothers persons message and targeting a different audience probably won't get you many fans on this forum.

Now can we please get away from all the Bull**** and get back to being a friendly group of guys who are here for no other reason that to support eachother and celebrate our accomplishments regardless of  surgery type?

Of course this post is geared to create a reaction. It's the hope that this reaction will cause people to actually look into a procedure that will save their life.

I disagree with your premise that men do not want to be thin. It is subjective and based on your own experience, but from being on OH for over 5 years, I can tell you that men are just as eager to be thin and look good as women (although many times we are more covert about it). It's the reason so many of us post ops have undergone plastic surgery...we want to look normal. It's not about being the next model on the cover of Men's Fitness...but it's about going to the gym and not looking like a deflated hefty bag when you take off your cloths.
