Submitted to Insurance...

What's going on guys, Not much of a talker on the forums but I have trolled from quiet some time.  Only a few months ago i was asking whether I should pursue R-NY or Lapband here on OH. I went to the seminar in late October, after doing extensive research on both procedures.  Took countless pto to get all my check-ups in order, read almost every new post on the forums and now have had my very last procedure (sleep study & cpap machine) done to submit to insurance.  It is a surreal experience when they told me they were doing so, from what I have been told, God willing, I will be going under the knife in 6 short weeks (2 weeks for ins to return & 3-4 weeks to set up my surgery date) for my RNY.  I am excited and nervous at the same time but full of confidence with what the future holds.  You guys have answered many questions without asking any and I thank everyone that participates on the forum.

Two things you've got going for you...You're a guy (we assume you're a guy) and you have looked at this from all sides (every angle).  Men lose the weight faster than woman.  We have a larger muscle structure so it comes off quickly.  Those who go into WLS as a quick fix or spur of the moment decision (without seeing the lifestyle changes) tend to do poorly.  Those who have thought long and hard...knowing what they are facing, usually do really well.
If you don't mind would love to have a first name and a city or state so we have a little idea where your at.  Brian

I'm keeping my one finger crossed that you get your insurance approval. I know how it feels to have to wait.

So far this has been a wonderful, blessed journey for me. And this site (in particular this forum) has been a great help as I go through this process.

Hope you'll be joining us soon on the loser's bench.

Welcome aboard!  Sounds like you've done your homework and are ready for the roller-coaster ride.  Good luck with the approval - may it come swiftly.  Here's to your next post, complaining about the pre-op diet.  (LOL - we've all been there!)
