Clothing

Ok fellas,

I'm ready to clean the bigger clothes out of my closet.  I'm sure it's been proposed before, but I don't know what the results have been.

I'd rather offer my clothes to my 'friends' here, than drop them at the local Goodwill.  Do you think that'd work?  I have a bunch of polo shirts (stripes and solids) that will be too big when the weather changes and it's warm enough to wear them.  Sizes are mostly  3X (Polo Brand) and some 4X.

I also have out-shrunk my 42, 44 and 46 inch waist pants.  I have various styles: dress slacks, nice khakis, jeans.

Wondering if anyone has had success in this sort of 'swap.'  I'd be willing to send them cross-country if the recipient would cover the shipping cost.

And heck, if someone else can offer 2X shirts and 38 inch pants, I'd be interested.

I would drop stuff off at the local support group meeting.  You can pick up clothes there too.  It's good to network there at those meetings.  I found a good protein shake, ideas for foods, ect.  Also things that work and don't work with my surgery.  Just a thought.  Brian

What do you got? I'm about a 46 or 48 pant and a 2X or 3X shirt...loosing weight though.

I'll take and post a picture of some stuff. I suppose it's tough to just say you'll take someone's clothes if you don't know anything about their style...

Yeah.

Plus since I am loosing, I don.t even know what size I'll be coming my vacation in 6 weeks. But cheap cloths would be nicer than going out and dropping a wad for a 10 day trip.

I'm happy to say that I can't use them!

But seriously, I don't have a local "group" to attend (they ALL meet on Wednesday night - the one night each week that I cannot make it).  So I separated the "good" stuff from the "junk" and donated the good stuff to the local Good Will and Samaritan's Inn (local homeless shelter).  There are a surprizing number of overweight people in those shelters, and very few clothes find their way to them.  The "junk" was separately donated to the Good Will, marked as "rags" - they go through a LOT of them cleaning up stuff that is donated, and I thought I would save them the trouble of separating them out...  By the time I'm done losing weight, they will have an entire collection of things from size 52 pants and 5XL shirts down to whatever size I'm in at goal weight.  (I can't even THINK that small yet...)

And, following someone's suggestion here on the forum, I held onto one of the larger size shirt and pants, just so I could do the "before and after" picture wearing the old duds...

I just give my stuff to a few guys I know they will fit and give what's left to Salvation Army and the local homeless shelter.

Do hang on to one or two items for the "after" pics.

I also have a few, very comfortable and now very large 3X shirts that are just great for lounging around in the evening.  I get a kick out of wearing them especially as i go by a mirror...they are so bagging it comical!  I love it!

I can use 3x and 2x shirts and will pay for shipping :-) I donated my 4x and 5x duds to others that wanted them...many were like new.
