Broke the Plateau
Paul, your post had me first rejoicing with you, then laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. My wife said "What's so funny?" When I read her your post, she just looked at me like I was crazy... And I started laughing all over again.
One of my "small victories" this week is that I noticed that my walking shoes are starting to smell bad... That means that I've actually been wearing them enough, and doing enough active stuff in them, to cause my feet to sweat. So when you talked about your gym shorts stinking, I flashed back to my own shoes, and just about busted my gut... Guess you had to be there, right?
Mike's advise about the free weights is a great suggestion. The morning I hit 80 lbs lost, I had to put some salt into the water softener. As I was struggling to carry the two bags from the garage to the pump house, it hit me that I was carrying exactly the amount of weight I had lost! I could not (still cannot) believe I was even able to function carrying around all that extra weight.
I can't wait to see for myself what it feels like to lose 100 lbs, then 150 lbs, then 200 lbs... But I kind of dread having to try to carry 200 lbs (5 bags of salt) from the garage to the pump house!
