DIET is a 4 letter word with many meanings
Most of us want to get away from quick loss-short term diets. These are the diets we have often had in the past. When I refer to my diet, I am merely referring to my manner of eating. I am following a way of eating which is can also be called a diet. Differentiating between them may be difficult at times, but I'm not going to go to great lengths to explain what my long term post-op diet is.
I have had to change my post-op diet over time because just following the simple rules I was given when I had my RNY back in 2000. I lost over 200 using my original food plan. I do eat a balanced food plan that my doctor has approved. I try to keep at about 1600 calories per day. Expecting me to eat only 1000 cal per day 10 years post op is unrealistic. I know I have to watch out for simple carbs. I am following a food addiction diet.
