Not sure there's anything you can do except be patient. On week 1 I knew the energy was less because of the surgery. On week 2 I felt stronger and also returned to work. Week 3 & 4 I was dragging ass - very low energy. I'm positive that was body adjusting to surgery, work, and increased walking.

I'm currently 3 months post-op and the energy is better than before surgery.

Give it some time...you've just had major surgery that requires major physical and mental adjustment. As your body heals and your mind finally gets wrapped around what is happening, your energy levels will naturally rise.

For now, just remember this is a marathon, not a sprint. Things will not be back to normal in just a few weeks, or for that matter a few months. It took me six months to begin to feel "normal" and begin to see big adjustments in my energy and activity levels. And, even now, I still have days that are not as good as others.

I think that many of us, myself included, were not given proper expectations for recovery. It just takes a while.

Ditto Ken and Don's replies.  Give it a bit of time...  You're still healing, and your caloric intake is probably still extremely low.  Your body is still adjusting.  I found that just getting started doing something (anything) made me feel more energetic.  Once I was going, I always seemed to feel better.

Ditto to all of the above...Remember it takes approximately six (6) to eight (8) weeks for your body to completely recover from the effects of Anesthesia.  Those drugs they give you to knock you out really put your body in a "near death" state.  Compound that with Major Trauma in the form of having your body cut on and re-arranged, then begin consuming it's self, plus reduced intake...Yea, you should have less energy.

The key is to start some exercise, any exercise, especially walking.  Increase both distance and pace as your body adjusts and your energy returns.

You are doing great!  Now be patient and be a good patient!
Eating junk food and CRAP is not a reward...it's a punishment...
it's a DEATH sentence...Reward yourself with Good Health!
