diet for those *****gained or having food addiction
For anyone who has regained and is struggling with food addiction issues, I would highly recommend this book http://www.amazon.com/Counting-Calories-Start-Losing-Weight/ dp/1449925723/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1294514040&sr=8 -2
*note: I am not collecting an amazon fee if you buy it.
I used this book to help my mom start losing weight. She's lost 13 pounds in 2 weeks. I used it myself to shed the last 10 pounds.
I would not recommend this to anyone early out of RNY. Also, of course talk to your doctor before starting a new diet.

Thanks for the info. There are other books that will help post ops also. My favorites are Food Addiction--The Body Knows by Sheppard and the Beck Diet Solution ( which is not a diet). Most people who are successful at weight loss agree that the two initial steps to take are to write down everything that you eat and to weigh and measure your food. Regarding Kay Sheppard[s book it's an older book on food addiction and proscribes a diet that does not contain sugar on white flour. When a person who is addicted to sugar or white flour eats their addictive substance, they experience further craving for that substance. Many people say that food addiction is different than alcoholism because we must eat every day.But we don't have to eat sugar nor white flour. I don't claim to have much knowledge of how the body acts in digesting food and producing insulin. It is more complicated that my simplistic statement. The other book deals with our attitudes toward food and for how we react to it., We do have to eat each day, but she teaches us how to eat like a thin person. Her premise is that we fail at diets because we were never taught how to stay on a lifetime diet. I'm sure that most of us have lost weight on short tem diets only to put the weight back on. Dr Beck provides successive lessons to learn so we can live without reacting to life by escaping with food..
Although we hope for continued success when we first go on our post WLS diet, Logic seems to say that we will eventually learn the proper way to eat with practice.
