I'll be brief: I was sleep deprived last week.

I saw my shrink today and my wife went with me.  He pinpointed the problem within 5 minutes.  And it is not what I thought it might be.  I was not being manic nor did I have a TIA.  He aske if I had been using my C-PAP machine and I responded that I often get sniffles in the winter and have to keep removing the mask to blow my nose.  He said that I need to use the C-PAP.

He went on to say that he will be glad to remain being my shrink and to monitor and prescribe my meds.  But, he said that my situation is ultimately futile unless I lose at least another 50 lbs.  He said that I am killing myself with all of this excess weight.

There's a reason for his change in attitude.  He used to have a bit of a paunch and went on the ATKINS plan and he's a new man.  He's over 6'3" and I can see each time I see him that he's losing weight.  He's even using the Beck Diet Solution as a workbook dealing with his thoughts a bout food.  Now he's joined the bandwagon that we must all get down close to our ideal weight.  I'm actually thankful for his concern and strength in dealing with me and not putting up with my BS.  Bob

Hey Bob. I origionally got this book http://www.amazon.com/Counting-Calories-Losing-Weight-ebook/ dp/B00368B7HS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&s=digital-t ext&qid=1294285560&sr=1-1 to help my mom lose weight. My brothers used it to lose also, and it has even helped me shed the last few pounds. I would highly recommend it.

When I see your handsome slim face ( I mention so that other young men will realize that they can get results like yours by using the tools they have acquired and Working with them), I remember who you are.  I went to get the book because I trust your recommendations.  Yes, I'm in my 60s and have been involve in OH for over 10 year--sometimes half-heartedly--but I am attracted to a program that has transformed a young (mid 20s?) man  in a manner of a few months.  I've known for years that the best way to promote WLS is by the quality of one's post-op program.  However, L can't get the book because thy are out of stock of the paperback version.  I do not have a kindle and am unlikely to make any major purchases until my wife gets a job.

I DO HOPE YOU WILL CONTINUE TO POST HERE.  You may also want to find Forums featuring  younger people.  But you are a valued member of this forum.

i also suggest that you go to the Community heading above and look up Groups.  From there, look at the Groups' Directory.  There is a Men's group listed but I forget their name (my wife says she's surprised that I remember her name after 36 years of marriage)/  Well, I joined and I keep on forgetting my password for the group.  That may be because they would support me, but I think they would call me out on my poor program--I say the right things and then give in to my food addiction anyway.  I think the men's group is listed as the Men's locker room or simply as the Locker room.  They started out as an adjunct to this forum but I believe their membership is higher than ours.  Their requirements for membership are similar to ours except that you have to apply for membership.  Virtually all MEN who apply are admitted.  The Group leader does refuse admittance to women.  It is his Group.  He makes up the simple rules that govern how the group functions and he can terminate any one's membership in the group for violating those rules.  He can not affect anyone's standing in OH overall; His power is only over his Group.  AND, his leadership is fair and seamless.

I continue to post on the OH Men'sTorum so that I can reach out to more Men.  Dam , if only I could remember my password to that group.  I.ve been like a broken recording..." I've lost my password and can't Get in.."

Hey, thanks bob. I do post in the wls 20's forum occasionally, but it is even slower than the mens forum. lol

Heres a link for a free pc version of the kindle http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=kcp_pc_mkt_lnd?doc Id=1000426311

If you can download that, then you can buy the kindle book, and it will load directly onto there.
