I guess everyone's sleeping after partying all night

At least that's what I hope is happening.  I hope I didn't offend anyone lately--my ego is swollen this morning.  There's no logical reason for it.

I think I'm going through a mild Manic phase.  I've only been sleeping 2-4 hours per night for the past week.  But my wife has pointed that i doze off and nap without even realizing it.  Just my usual daytime routine:  fall asleep and drop the book I was reading;  I fall asleep while watching TV, wake up, and realize the program has change.  I  Tivo everything I plan to watch at night just in case I fall asleep.  I usually have no idea what day or time it is when I wake up.  I'd rather sleep at night.  This may correct itself in a couple of months when I'm able to use my C-Pap  again.  I can't use it now because I almost constantly have the sniffles in the winter and have to keep taking off the C-PAP mask to blow my nose.  It gets annoying very fast.

As to eating and resolutions.  If you have broken your resolutions already, just start again right now.  I had that problem when I woke up next to a bag of chips ( I fell asleep sitting up in my chai)r in my man-cave.  I'll discuss that some other time. We are here to help each other.  Bob

I wish!  Went to bed exhausted at 10:30 last night...  Spent the day priming the floor and laying stick-on tile in my wife's bathroom.  Only 10 tiles were laid "intact"  - the rest had to be cut to fit around the build-in counter and shelf units.  Those suckers have a "toe-kick" that is recessed about 4 inches, and at each "vertical" section, they have a 45-degree beveled angle back to the recessed part.  Looks great, but it's a REAL PAIN to cut the tile to fit...

Then we went to lunch with my Mom and my sister, and exchanged gifts (we were out of town on Christmas).  Stopped by and joined the gym.   Allen, Texas has a "natatorium" - AKA aquatic center - with a small, but well-equipped fitness center upstairs.  Access to everything costs $202 per year for us "seniors".  And, if you join between Dec 15th and the end of January, you get 13 months for the price of 12 -- about $15.50 per month.  It's a great deal.  (Even better if you live in town and get the 35% "resident" discount!)

When we got back home, I prepped the "toilet area" of the upstairs bathroom and laid those tiles so I could get the toilet re-installed...  Somewhere in there, I ate supper and tried to watch a football game.  But I found myself spending more time dozing than watching -- guess SJBob and I have the same problem - at least yesterday!

Finally, I gave up on seeing in the new year at midnight, and went to bed.

This morning, I finished priming the upstairs bathroom, carried two 40-lb bags of salt to the well house to put in the water softener, and cleaned up the sun porch (where the contractors had left yet another mess).  Now I'm going up to lay the rest of the tile -- or rather to teach my daughter how to lay the rest of the tile...  A skill every daughter should have...  LOL

Not me either - my wife and i were up and out early.  We did the Sgt Preston Yukon King Memorial 5K this morning.  She walked it.  I ran it in 29:15 which was ok...I wanted to be under 30 mins and made it.  After I finished, I went back out on the course and met her at about a mile out, so I actually got in another 2 miles.  It was COLD but FUN!  We then spent the day riding down the Lake Shore (Lake Michigan).  It was really cold and windy and that lake looked like the ocean.  After that a nice dinner with her folks.  A great way to start the New Year!  I am loving the thin and healthy life!  Mike

I'm definitely slightly manic but I'll be seeing my shrink on Wed.  I did contemplate calling the County mental health line, but thought that I'd be okay if I could just fall asleep.

Well, I did sleep for a few hours during the day.  I just hope that I can eventually sleep at night.  And, I couldn't even get on the internet until an hour ago.  Damn Verizon!.  The tech got me hooked up in about 5 min.  He said they had been having intermittent problems all day.

Oh, I wasn't the brightest bulb in the box.  I tivo'd the Rose parade just in case I fell asleep.  That worked out well.  Then I tried to gear when the Mummers' String Bands would be marching so I could copy them while watching football.  The weather was beautiful and the parade went faster than usual;  so I missed a few of the bands.  The local TV station broadcasts the entire parade but the parade lasts about 8 hours.  It starts out with various comics and "clowns. and performers called jokers.  Then there are smaller groups, and, finally there's the string bands.  They are the only ones who play live music.  they are the crowd favorites.  But, every sub-class in the parade marches the entire parade route of about 6 miles and gets judged at the end.  They all do some kind of skit or performance.  The String bands' routines are about 6 min apiece.  Later at night there's still another group called the Fancy Brigades who perform inside at the convention center.

I shouldn't do anything while I'm drowsy.  I went to look over the sistory of what I had recorded and didn't see the parade and thought I must have slept through it and missed.  I erased other programs that I felt I couldn''t get to.  Only then did I finally realize that I erased the Mummers for the first time in 30 years.  Well, I can always purchase their commercially available video.  in a few weeks.  Do I really want to pay for what I normally get for free?  Sound like a dilemna that usually applies to a different subject.  That's what I hear.  I've always been faithful to my wife.

I stink at being a good husband but I am a faithful and loving one.

Now it's 1:00am an O'm wide awake and not feeling wired.  Bob
