So, smaller stomach doesn't mean I can eat crap! UGH!
A bit of a confession here to keep myself honest through this process.
After being cleared for 'real' food on Dec. 21st, I've been eating poorly. In the week since then, I've gained 3 pounds.
I thought my strategy of just having a little bit of the foods I would have previously gorged on would be okay. I was wrong. Christmas celebrations always involve high fat foods, and this year was no exception. I ate too much of the twice baked potatoes and not enough of the protein rich (though fatty) ham.
I feel like crap this week, and notice my lathargic ways creeping back in. This shouldn't be the case now that I am down 40 pounds, and everyone is commenting on how different I look!
So, now that Christmas has passed, and the leftovers are gone, I'm recommitting myself to the program. Protein smoothies for breakfast, lots of water, and PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROTEIN for lunch and dinner. Got some salmon, ahi tuna, and chicken for meals. No white carbs! Only some fruit and veggie -- after I get my protein in.
Again, this is a confession on my part, and I know I can count on you guys to kick my ass as needed, and support me by sharing your own past slip ups.
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to all!
Chad

Well lesson learned.
At least you identified what happened early enough that all your previous work was not undone. Remember that these surgeries are a tool and the diet is really what is going to enable the loss and allow you to maintain it.
Now to make up for your bad boy ways I say you should run the PeachTree with me in July.
LOL

Like wise Don said, "consider your ass kicked!" Don't do that again!
And Like Paul said, for your absolution, RUN and 5K or two!!! LOL
The key to success is the combination of this great tool we call WLS along with eating right and exercise. Please note the comment I have on my signature line...Eating CRAP is NOT a reward...it IS a punishment...it is a Death Sentence!!!!
There is a reason I have that as my signature line...it is as much a reminder for me as for anyone else who happens to read one of my posts.
Now...why are you still sitting there reading this stuff on the computer when you should be out running or walking or doing something!!!! Ok, Ok, just kidding!
Be well and healthy!

Dude at 2 months out how can you eat all those carbs? I had the DS, which has a VSG stomach and I couldn't get in anything more then protein before feeling like I was stuffed; and even with 2 protein shakes a day, I was barely able to get in 100 grams of protein a day.
I know it was the holidays and all, but it's your chance to lose weight. With the sleeve, you have a very short window, and you need to make the most of it.
