Hi Guys,

It’s been going well, I haven’t had any complications I’ve only thrown up once, and that was today, when I drank too soon after having some pretty dry tuna. Overall I am very happy with my decision to have weight loss surgery. I’ve lost 24 pounds since having surgery, and I am starting to get my energy back.  It feels good that I lost 100 pounds since January. I’m walking about 45 mins, 3-4 times a day; I got a pedometer my nut wants me to get 10,000 steps a day. I’m no longer wearing 7x shirts, they are too big for me, and it was great feeling dropping them off at goodwill today. Someone will find some good use of them, as car cover, table cloth, seriously they are that big.

I’m still having a hard time adding food back into my diet. I get most of my protein from shakes or “New Whey" liquid protein, eggs and black beans. I think the hardest part is that I don’t feel hunger as much as I used too if at all, so I have to remind myself I haven’t eaten in a few hours.

Happy Holidays Everyone, thank you for all support.

For 2 weeks post-op you seem to be doing great!

I, too, love having a pedometer. Really helps me keep track of my activity. I'm still working up to 10,000 steps per day but that's a goal I hope to achieve soon.

Enjoy the holidays and the much brighter health prospects for the new year.

I haven't hit 10000 quite yet, I'm getting close... for the first time in a long time, I'm excited about the future.

Hey GA - you ARE doing great!  Congratulations!  That walking 45 mins, 3-4 times a day is fantastic!  Keep it up!  Glad to hear someone will have a table cloth or car cover for Christmas!  LOL.

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Great New Year!  Mike

I am at 2 weeks post-op (sleeve) tomorrow.  Seems like it should be longer!  My bowels don't like this liqiud diet stuff...

Am I over doing it if I am snow blowing and bringing in wood for the fireplace?  Someone said there is a 10 pound weight restriction which seems a little light to me.

I had RNY in October and my Dr. put me on a 15 lbs lifting restriction for 1 month. I followed it but felt like I could actually handle more.

My Dr. also said that I should only limit my activity if I felt tired. So, within 2 weeks after surgery I was mowing the lawn and doing "normal" yard work. I did find myself getting tired very easily and I had to take more rests. But I think the exercise help. Also had to make sure I was getting enough hydration.

Now, if you were shoveling snow, I think that would be a concern. But a snow blower (at least mine) does most of the work and I just guide it. I also don't think firewood is a concern as long as you're making multiple trips with light loads.

Again not sure the about hydration, lifting restrictions, etc for the sleeve.

I am so glad to be on mushie/puree stage now.  I'm on a 15 pound restriction for another month, and can't lift weights for another 9 weeks.

I hope you had a Great Christmas
