Sugar lows?

I was sleeved on December 10th.  I am getting what feels like old sugar lows - fuzzy head.  Any experience with that?  Never had diabetes or problems with sugar before just had sugar lows if I didn't eat for a while.  Will this go away?  Trying to keep my protein and liquids up during the post-op period.

Your body is being blitzed with changes since your surgery.  If you still are feeling that way by the time of your first post op visit to your doctor make him/her aware of the issue.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

I was having the same issue, but talked to my nutritionist about it and she said when I get that way eat couple spoons of pudding and it should help and go away soon.
I found I was mostly dizzy after being driven somewhere,

Yeah, I think most of us experience that at some point...  Your body is expecting the amount of food you used to eat, and of course, it's not getting anywhere near that amount.  For me, this "low point" usually happens in the mid- to late-afternoon.  I usually eat a high-protein snack - lately that's been one of those Babybel low-fat cheese (the come in gouda, cheddar, and their "no name" version).  I find within a couple of minutes, I'm back to normal.  Oddly enough, I also find that if I take a short walk about that time, I feel better sooner.

But if it persists, or gets worse, you may want to research "reactive hypoglycemia".  This is more common in RNY patients, but anyone on extremely low caloric intake could be affected.  Having  a history of hypoglycemia in the past can make you more susceptible.

Could be low potassium or sodium.  Have some cooked spinach with some salt...Good for sodium and potassium at the same time.  Other things high in potassium are bananas, yogurt, raisins, tomatoes, oranges.  Good luck

Great advice from Jim...I usually hit a low around 2ish in the afternoon.  Thats when i do a protein bar or a hand full of nuts or some cheese.  I've found it usually depends on what i had for lunch.  The more protein, the less of the 'crash' feeling.  Mike
