My nutritionist said yes, but not early, as alcohol can induce ulcers.

Most docs say six months to a year.  Considered to be "empty" calories and dehydrates you.  Since surgery has altered your disgestive tract you may find that you are affected differently than before.  Get lit quicker on a lot less booze.  Makes us cheap dates!  Best advised heard, can't speak from experience since I quit drinking back in the late Reagan years, is to be at home the first time you try ANY alcohol.  You also run the risk of a transfer addiction with the drinking.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Hey my rajun cajun friend...Yea, I still like a little nip or sip too.  Do wait about 6 months and DO be careful...as Don mentioned, us post-op WLS guys are really cheap dates!  A small amount will hit you pretty hard, especially at first.  It is also empty calories.  Before you embibe, do make sure you have all your protein and water in for the day.

Like with all  "foods" there is a little trial and error.  I used to LOVE a nice cold beer.  With the carbination, I can only handle about 1/2.  Then it sits, gets warm and skanky.

I like a small glass of Red wine. I've done ok with a short of Jameson's on the rocks mixed with a splash of water.  Again, a very little goes along way.

I'd watch out for some of that swamp water you cajun boy's like to mix up...that will eat a fricken hole right through your little pouch!  LOL

Sounds like you've got a good woman there who is looking out for ya.  Remember, this is not a Sprint...it's a Marathon!

Oh, and once you're healed up good some nice gumbo with some spice is good...just smaller portions and take it slow.
