Cheese! (?)

Is cheese considered a good source of protein?  I've been making meals out of deli meat and sliced cheese rolled up.  But my wife suggests that maybe I'm getting too much fat from the cheese.

What say you?

Cheese has always been fine for me ..... just be carefull because it tends to bind people up which was a huge problem early on for me.

Ditto on being able to handle cheese. That's on the approved food list from my nut.

But, I didn't realize that cheese could result in binding. Wish I had known that sooner. Thanks for the info.

The cheese isn't a problem.  But , be aware that most deli meat is high in salt and you should only have it occasionally.

I was going to post the same thing about deli meat.  Go for the low sodium, turkey or sliced chicken breast...we have a variety of cheeses in our fridge to have some choices.  Makes a great snack or small meal with some almonds or other nuts...again, watch out for the salt.

Cheese was a staple for me during my time in hell (pureed foods).  I had no problems other than the binding which resulted in the feeling like I was given birth. I tend to avoid most of the softer fattier cheeses like brie and such.

So, I guess the consensus is that cheese's fat to protein ratio isn't a concern.  Good to know.  I buy the 2% cheeses when possible to save on some of the fat.
