The Biggest Loser Show...no me gusta

Ok, my wife loves this show, but I can't stand it!  She loves the emotional drama, and the 'success' stories.  I despise the exploitation of the obese contestants.  If it weren't exploitive, then why would those men have to pose with their shirts off for all to see (and be disgusted by) their excess fat?

Anyway, just wondering what your take on this very popular show was?

I am of the mindset that you can't exploit someone if they are agreeing to do it.  I personally don'****ch the show because it is really unrealistic.  The people live on a ranch for how many months, with all meals prepared based on a medically individualized diet, they have personal trainers every day for hours and full medical support.

There are also a lot of bhind the scene components that people watching the show are not aware of.  Sorry but running flat out as fast as you can at 300-400 pounds is going to result in injuries, and dehydration.

If I lived in a place that was geared 24X7 to nothing but weightloss then I probably would not have had to have surgery.

Personally I like celebrity fit club, again it is not very realistic, but I love the fact that here are people that have what seems like everything yet are more efed up than I am.

I guess your take on exploitation is correct...I mean, they are submitting themselves for consideration.  I do not like that they have to go shirtless though.  I mean the reason for that is obviously so that the rest of 'thin' america can be disgusted by what the contestants have to face in the mirror daily...

I also agree that the 'ranch' aspect of it is completely unrealistic.  God bless those who are able to stick with the plan once they're oustide of that environment, but I think they're setting the contestants up to fail because they've created a dependence on having everything monitored by the experts which will disappear when they're sent home.

As for Celebrity Fit Club...you know you only like that because of the train wreck aspect...after all, I don't think they've had a 'celebrity' on their in 3 or 4 seasons...

Oh come on. America loves looking at big hairy man boobs.

I could see where they don't want them in full clothes to morre accurately get their weight, but also part of it is how your appearnace changes and some changes you don't see under a baggy tshirt.  How many of us wear form fitting shirts that are going to show a .5 inch difference in your belly.  I could see where they would be better in something like a compression tshirt or something.  I love mine can't exercise without one now and sometimes where it to work under some shirts as it really is more comfortable.

As for Fit club.  It is all about the train wreck, and how people have pissed away chances very few get.  Fit Club and Springer can always make you feel better about your life no matter how bad things are.

I am so with you on this Chad - I can't stand that show.  In fact, I can't stand most of the crap that is on TV - I watch HGTV, Discovery, and History Channel - and even though I can eat so much, I still like Food network.  I am a recovering Food-a-holic...what can I say...

Overall, I like the show but this season hasn't really given me anyone to root for. I don't care why or how they lose the weight. I just find inspiration in them losing no matter the reason.

I am for any one who wants to lose weight no matter how. I have liked past seasons but this ones not that good. I would love to have a month or two with the trainers though ..... I'm a little messed in the head that way, I think what they call torture would be kinda fun.
