Do I see stitches?

I'm just a couple weeks out (18 days to be exact), and my SteriStrips are falling off now.  I think that on my largest incision I'm seeing a fishing-line stitch coming through (about 1/8th of an inch) the scab.  My surgeon said the sutures were internal so I didn't expect to see them.

Did anyone else experience this?  Will it go away with the scab?  Or should I call the doc?

Thanks,
Chad

I had one that was like that. I'm not sure when, but I assume it fell out. If you're concerned, call the surgeon. It can't hurt to be certain.

Hi,

I'm two weeks out also ,and my steri-strips fell off, I also have this one spot thats the same as you described.  I've just been putting a hydrocortizone cream on it, I asked one of the doctors I work with what he'd recommend and thats what he told me to put on it to prevent scarring. But just to be sure ask your surgeon, I dont have my post-op appointment until next Tuesday, I will know for sure then whats expected.

Thanks

Ryan

I had a couple of my sites that had them.  No worries they will go away.

BTW how you doing on your protein?

Alright...I'll let it be then.

As for protein, I haven't been going with the shakes, but I've been eating 5-6 little 'protein-rich' meals during the day (meat and cheese rolls, chili, eggs, etc) to get a good amount of protein in.  I asked the NUT yesterday if there were any warning signs of insufficient protein, and she didn't have anything that I could physically measure myself, except fatigue.  And I've been feeling well, so I hope my labs at 3 months don't show any alarms.

Took a good long walk yesterday for the first time too, and that felt great!

23lbs, baby!

Well my offer still stands on trying some different ones at my place.  If not I'll try to remember to bring you a couple servings to this months meeting if you will be there.
