Cold Medication after RNY??

Looks like I've come down with a major cold today. My nose hasn't been running like this for years.

So what kind of cold medications can I take after RNY? I know we're supposed to avoid NSAIDs but I'm not at all sure what to do for a cold.

Any help appreciated.

Try Tylenol and pseudafed.  In the evening, I use Tylenol PM.  It has benadryl, which is an antihistamine that helps with congestion.  One bad side effect is it may make you sleepy.  But, with a cold, you should be getting alot of rest, right.

Also use Zicam.

Both Ricola and Halls have a sugar free cough drops.

Hope you fell better soon!

Thanks so much for the reply. I don't even want to venture out in the cold (snowing here) to get any meds. But, I have some benadryl on hand and will use that.

You're right, I don't care about it making me sleepy. I really think the sleep will help.

Thanks again.
