Hit a 8-day stall at 3 weeks out. Is this to be expected?
Hey Sport! The stall thing really does screw with the head. Like several of the posts above, just stay on the program and ride it out.
I've learned through this journey that our bodies really are amazing machines. Yours is not only reacting to reduced intake of calories, but also still working on healing from your surgery. One of the main reasons "Diets" don't work is that the body adjusts. It also adjusts to exercise. My trainer told me it is very good to change up the exercises we do so our bodies don't get "used" to the routine. That supports the point made above about doing different kinds of physical work to stimulate loss.
I also agree that those shakes and protein drinks become very old very fast. I can't even look at Isopure. I ran a 5k about a month ago and they had some at the finish line. I took one and only got half through it and was ready to hurl.
Main point is...keep working on getting protein in, in what ever small portion you can. Avoid the "white" food (white flour/bread, regular potatoes, white rice, SUGAR). White food = carbs.
Again, hang in there. We are all here for you!

Hi there again! I'm 8 months out, lost 78 pounds and the pattern seems to be about 3 weeks stall then a week of weight loss followed by another stall. Very frustrating. Up to 6 months postop I had to choose between getting in all my protein or all my liquids. Even now it's sometimes touch and go! LOL. I'd love to eat a whole cup of protein 5 times a day, my restriction is still present, hungry or not. As you've found out, this place is great for advice and sharing experiences.
Yea! After an 11-day stall, I got on the scale this morning and dropped 2 lbs. I also noticed yesterday that I could tighten my belt to another hole and my pants felt looser. Thanks to all of you for getting me through this one. Everything ya'll said was right on! Now if I can just knock off another 9 lbs before thanksgiving to get me below 300lbs, that would make the month for me.
