Water Pills
I had the misfortune of being on water pills about 32 years. I lived in North Jersey and we were going into NYC by train when we got stuck in a tunnel. That was a very uncomfortable feeling. Luckily we weren't stuck for long. We got out of the train near Macy's and I quickly went looking for a Men's room. I got off them asap.
Just know where bathrooms are located if you are going to be on water pills. I suppose that there may be different types of water pills. They are sometimes used to quickly lose water weight. But, note that that is jus****er weight. Unless there is a medical problem, you may want to see if you can be taken off of them. Besides, it's almost impossible to take in all of the fluids we are supposed to drink and be on water pills.

I was on a water pill for hypertension for years pre-WLS. That was one of the first pills I came off of Post-op. Both my surgeon and PCP said with the malabsorbtion issues with RNY, and the fact that I was loosing weight and the BP was getting under control, I did not need them. HOWEVER, if you stay on the water pill, you will need to take Potassium.
Hopefully, you can come off both real soon...but only on the advice of your Docs. I have my PCP manage by Blood Pressure meds. Every time I get blood work, I have the results go to both my WLS Surgeon and my PCP so they both are on the same page as to what is goin on with me and my altered body.
Good luck!

My Doc added them to my meds to help with my blood pressure. I wasn't able to tolerate them as it made me dizzy whenever I went from a seated position to a standing. Sometimes I would get dizzy even when I didn't stand up. When I stopped the med things were right as rain again.
