Another milestone

I just uploaded the info from the GPS  I use on my bicycle rides.  It shows that today I passed the 2000 mile mark. I have officially ridden my bike 2003 miles  since February, when I first got back on my bike for the first time in about thirty years. It's just over two thousand miles from Youngstown to Boise, Idaho. Wow!

Earlier today, I went shopping for bicycle bag and had to visit about eight different stores until I found the one I wanted. And I managed to do all that walking.. not only without any pain.. but actually with a spring in my step.  Last summer when I walked, I felt as if I had logs chained to my ankles.

I hate to admit it... because I am not a fan of gym exercise.. but I have to give some credit to to the elliptical and weight training I have embarked upon since I am not able to ride my bike as much. (shorter days).

And now, the kids (they're grown) are coming over to watch the house while my wife an I are going to take our bicycles and tour the Gettysburg National Battlefield.  I hope the leaves will be in all their autumn glory.
