I have a DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good for you both. Not sure what your plan is but mine was to do at least 1 protein shake a day and lose as much weight as possible to get that liver smaller to make it easier for the surgeon to manuever without causing you more problems than you want. It was hard for me but after surgery I was told it all went perfect and doing the above helped make it so.
See you on guys on the losers bench.

Goof for you. We've recently had another super morbidly obese man post here. Although you are having different types of surgery, you may want to contact him and become online buddies on your weight loss journey. I was super morbidly obese when I had my RNY and I had an especial affinity for other men like me. You will lose a lot of weight at first--more than men weighing much less than you. That makes sense since you have to eat a massive amount of calories to maintain your current weight. Your weight loss will slow down as your weight decreases.
thanks guys i have been doing 2 shakes a day for a couple weeks now so i dont see that being a problem & i am going to lose more weight before i go thats for sure.....I will take any comments you have to offer from anyone and if anyone wants to add me to their friends list thats fine with me....thanks again
Do High protein very very low/no carb a couple weeks prior to surgery if your surgeon doesn't have you do it already. This will help shrink your liver. Do not invest a ton in protein powders for post surgery as you taste will change and what you like today you may not after. Get an exercise plan in place and make it a habit so you will want to do it after surgery. I was walking 4 miles a day preop and went crazy when I was limited to 30 minutes a shot post op until giving full clearance.
Set goals, not weight but things you can measure your progress by and easily look back at. One of my goals was to buy pants and a non big man store. Things like this make the stalls more bearable. Pictures, take one today then one on the morning of your surgery then every 4 weeks after. I do this and it helps get me through the rough patches, if I don't want to exercise I just have to look at my picture to see where I was.
Good luck.
