Fantasy, Reality, and Weight Loss

If I don't keep a food log, I can fantasize about how much I'm eating and I may not lose weight.  I'm sure most of us did that in the days before we thought of having WLS.  The reality is calories in vs calories burned.

Another fantasy vs reality is living in the modern world.  I retired in July 1992 due to manic-depression.  My problems at work were not due to mood swings.  Rather, I couldn't prioritize my work.  Everyone else in the office had about 20 cases on their desks while I had about 120 because I couldn't figure out what to do first.  Just doing anything didn't even occur as an option.  My regional director have me the choice of being fired with cause or filing for disability.  The Fed agency I worked for was extremely kind and helpful with that process.

However, I still can't deal with many aspects of modern life.  I go out to a meal once a week with my buddies and they almost fall off their chairs from laughing so hard when I describe my difficulties dealing with beauracracy, phne mazes, and customer or tech services.  I'm not offended because I am truly overwhelmed and I see the humor in my situation.

ON A SERIOUS NOTE,  one of the first couples on ObesityHelp.com are Michelle and Don.  She has a user name of Vitalady.  She's been on this site since its inception and thay are both still maintaing their weight loss.  Don has had recent health prolems not related to WLS and I ask for your prayers.
