Two Weeks out and Started Puree/Mushie Soft Diet
Went for my two week review yesterday and thought I'd share where I'm at.
Since Surgery:
Lost about 28 pounds
Daily Protein 90-100g
Fluids 60-80 oz
Calories 400-700
I've been bugging the crap out of the Dr. and NUT, but had questions. Recovery went really well, they say that I healed up very fast. After a week literally almost no doscomfort. At 2 weeks I am 100% except being wiped. Today will be my first day back at work, so I will give it a shot.
Surgery and recovery went much better than I expected. So much so I was worried something was wrong. I have had to pull back on drinking ot eating too much protein from shakes. At about 7 days out I started getting incredibly hungry. I understand that is not the norm. Also have not been feeling a restriction on fluids.
We talked about this in detail yesterday. Dr. is thinking that since I healed so quickly the swelling may have gone down quicker reulting in the ability to drink more earlier. So I am on strict orders not to exceed a certain amount per hour. Since the bypass allows continuous drainage of stomach contents I guess it makes sens that I would not become full on liquids.
I started on purees and soft food last night. Started with Chili and then tuna. I was able to do about 3 oz over 2 hours and go that hey I'm full feeling, so I guess I verified there is a pouch in there. I'm going to carefully monitor what I eat and see what happens.
I'm not complaining. I guess this is more evidence that everyone is different and that a wide range of thing can happen when doing this surgery.

Way to go CM. It sounds like you are doing better than I did the first couple of weeks. I was a whiney crybaby because of bloating. Just be patient. Take it one day.. one hour.. one moment at a time and you'll be fine.

Sounds like you are doing great.

Again, Congrats Crispy! You are well on your way! I had a very similar experience and was able to advance faster than expected. But you do know when your full and DONT pu**** Keep up the great work.
As far as being wiped, I think that takes about 4-6 weeks. I really think it is a function of the anesthesia. Those drugs just really mess with me. Then, remember your body has been cut on and you are healing. Lastly, you are taking in less food and your body is using up that stored up fat. It does wear a body down. Getting back into a good exercise routine will help that.
Keep up the great progress!
