I'm not losing like you, but I've learned a lot from what my brother has done. About 8 years ago, he was on a charity bicycle ride from Boston Common to Central Park in NYC. It was his first long ride and he figured he'd have to load up on carbs. He actually gained weight despite all of that difficult cardil.
Maybe you should contact the nutritionist through your surgeon's office. I'm sure the surgeon would want to help with your continued weight loss. The nutritionist may be able to tell you if you really do need to radically change your food plan.
I wasn't always morbidly obese. I do recall that I could easily fall into the trap of thinking I could eat more if I exercised more. However, when you look at how many calories you actually use during various activities, you may want to ease up a little on your exercises.
Look at the exercise Forum and look for posts by men who do work out a lot. Contact some of them directly and ask for training info. We do have some men who do a lot of exercise and training. They can probably tell you whether you are pushing yourself to fast.
What the hey. I'm just a 60 year old man who's still morbidly obese and I wish I could have began this process about 25-30 years ago.
Thanks SJ
I did talk to my NUT (thru Kaiser) and she told me that i needed to eat more....I was eating about 1000-1200 calories a day and she told me i need to increase my caloric intake to 2000-2400 calories a day!!! Also my work outs should be 1 hour of cardio and 30 minutes of weights a day...i thought that seemed like a lot to eat being a gastric bypass person. but posting here a few months ago and talking to a few trainers at my gym they said i wasn't eating enough!!! thanks again SJ!!! I AM SO CONFUSED!!!!

NOTE the difference in our ages and activity levels. I'm just starting to do about 2 miles on an exercise bike per day and mild lifting. Still, it's way more than I've done for the past 10 years.
I've also "hit a wall", have been watching my carbs, calories, etc., and have recently changed my routine at the gym, doing 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training each day. I'll be very interested to hear other ideas and suggestions.
I have my 6 month post op visit next week, so will be taking to my team's nutritionist, exercise guy, etc.
Even after the RNY, the battle is still a battle...just have a bit of a better weapon and chance to win the war!

I don't see why you couldn't go to the gym and continue your workouts while you are on it, but I'm by no means a healthcare professional or a trainer.
Good luck with it all.
