Post Surgery Chewable Sugar Free Multi Vitamins
I will be having Laproscopic RNY surgery this saturday 10/2/2010. I just noticed that the chewable multi vitamins that I have to take post surgery need to be sugar free. I did buy chewable ones already but did not pay attention to the sugar free requirement. So far I have been unable to find the sugar free. Does anyone have any suggestions where to get them?
It is my understanding that the chewables do not need to be sugar free. I had surgery in late August and have been using them since my surgery without a problem. I got mine from Alice.com:
Caltrate Calcium Supplement with Vitamin D & Minerals, ChewableTablets
3@
$8.49
$25.47
Centrum Chewables, Citrus Berry 3@$10.88 $32.64
-The Caltrate was 60 tablets, the Centrum was 60 tablets.
Good luck. -Bill

Hmm. my plan was very clear that it had to be Calcium Citrate.. ONLY..
It's the only calcium obsorbed properly after RNY?
I searched for a long time to find liquid Calcium citrate after surgery.. but it was so gross tasting
We were allowed to break up the pills (no need to crush) and take them with water.
After several weeks, you can just swallow the big Calcium horse pills!!
I was told everything had to be sugar free.. I even bought some sugar free ketchup. Sugar does funny things to my system.. Not sure if it's a bonefide dump,, I can eat one cookie, but a half a donut sends me to the toilet within minutes..
Your best to check with your nutritionist and make sure you have exactly the right stuff.

Decent chewable vitamins I have yet to find. Be careful the centrum silver leaves out iron.
The best calcium citrate I have found is the Bariatric advantage chocolate chews. Taste like fudge chews, go down easy. Their chewable iron gets good reviews and I concurr.
