22 yr old bypass, lost 250 pounds--feeling lost in life now
Hoping to be like you. Similar start weight and goals but I've. Got a few years on you. I'm just at the beginning Ming of my trip but can see hints of being lost later. Find a couple of nice hoboes with social outlets?

Haven't had the surgery (yet) but I have gone through big weight swings in the past. I can definately identify with feeling "empty" or lost in life even after losing the weight. Here's what helped me.
Set New Goals: After weight loss surgery you had a goal for your weight loss. Looks to me like you've met that goal (big kudoes to you) and now need to set a new goal. It doesn't necessarily have to be a weight-related goal - perhaps a near-term life goal such as finishing school, increasing your job skills, or saving $xx.xx per paycheck for plastic surgery.
Remain Active: I'm sure part of your weight loss was due to an exercise program such as walking, biking, gym, etc. If you've slacked off, start in again or perhaps explore a new activity such as yoga, tae kwon do, tai chi. join a bowling league, or similar stuff.
Force Yourself to Get Out: When I felt down, I would hybernate in the house. Simple things such as doing yard work, going to a cheap movie, or attending a support group helped. Make a list of places in your area you haven't visited and go exploring (i.e., the riverside park, walking trails, the library, etc.). Volunteer at a rest home, animal shelter, or similar place.
Date or Strengthen an Existing Relationship: Focus on making someone else happy and meeting their needs.
Get a Pet: I've always found myself in a better place when I've had the responsibility of taking care of a dog. Even if you can't have a dog because of living cir****tances, you can have a small fish tank.
Consider Therapy: My previous weight problem were due to unresolved personal problems. I ate to feel comfort. Try to identify the core reason why you gained weight in the first place and deal with those issues.
I certainly don't have all the answers but I hope these suggestions will act as a spring-board and help you get your own ideas flowing. I'm amazed at your success and really feel you're just in a mental slump. Even just faking it until you truly feel better may help.

All of what these guys told you is great advice.
I was thinking, "Dude, you're 22 years old. We're all lost as hell at 22."
I know I was. You've got a lot going on and you're trying to sort out your place in life. Finding a decent job, girls, what direction to go in, all kinds of stuff. I can't speak on being thin after being overweight for so long (because I have never been thin) but you have to allow for some of your feelings to just be natural for someone your age.

I lost 300 lbs and it is challenging. Your whole self image and the lens you view the world through is shaped by morbid obesity. I think it's easy for people to say "you're 22 and lost" or "get a pet" (both of which aren't necessarily bad), but the reality is that losing that much weight is a BIG adjustment. I think the problem for me was that I became extremely self focused, and focused on "my happiness".
Take time to evaluate your life now, you've probably realized at this point that losing weight in itself was great for your health and looks, but in itself it doesn't make you happy. Personally I think happiness or true joy only comes from having a relationship with Jesus, and when I forgot that in my own life, I became extremely unhappy.

Hey Yehuda!
I was not as big as you and I was not as young as you ... but I still think most of what I'm going to say will apply.
EMBRACE your new life. Take it by the horns and do things you have never DREAMED of doing. I did this by running and am right now training for my 5th Full Marathon ... the NYC Marathon.
Find a new passion. Make new friends. Choose the new direction for your life. Set goals. Achieve them ... celebrate them.
You will always "slip" into the old fat self from time to time. Feeling down ... or hating your excess skin. Whatever it may be ... but having a new passion helps pull you through those times.
Impossible is NOTHING.
And your welcome to contact me anytime as well bud.
