Someone on here was asking about muscle development a few days ago.  I am sorry I didn't get a chance to reply to their post.  They wanted to know what's true and false.

1.  True - To build muscle mass you must lift heavy.
2.  False -  lite weight and high reps build muscle mass.  Lite weight and high reps are good for toning.  It falls more under cardio than weight training.
3.  True -  You must cosume enough protein to build and maintain muscle.  It's recommended to cosume 1 gram of protein per pound you weigh.  A 200 lb man would need 200 grams of protein.  But for serious bodybuilding, you will need 1 1/2 gram of protein per pound you weigh.
4.  False - If you stop lifting, your muscle turns to fat.  Muscle is muscle and fat is fat.  The fat just covers the muscle.  Muscle don't turn into fat no more than bone turn into fat...
5.  True - Try to autonate between push and pull exercises.  Chest is a push exercise and back is a pull exercise.  Biceps are pull and triceps are push.  On Monday do a pull and Tuesday do a push.  Or vice versa...  make sure you rest each body part atleast 2 to 3 days before working them again.

I have much more information but is tired of typing...lol    I will post more later.
