Yesterday I was told my surgery is scheduled for Oct. 12. I began this entire process in early May by receiving a packet of information from my surgeons office.

I welcome any advice on what or how I should prepare prior to my surgery date. Prep on what supplies or food you found useful once you returned home from the hospital.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can share with me.

That's great , we will make room on the loosers bench for ya. Get some sample packs of protein powders so you don't waste money if you buy the tubs. Your taste will change so I wouldn't have a lot on hand. I know GNC's have single serving packs of different brands and flavors. I have also found that mixing a package of diet hot chocolate mix to chocolate or vanilla protein will help the flavor.Have some sugar free jello and pudding on hand as well as sugar free popcicles.

Congrats on your date.

Best advice I can give on how to prepare is don't focus on your date, keep yourself busy or you will go nuts.  Get sample packs of various protien powders as suggested, and don't start sampling them now as your taste will probably change due to the keatosis and what you like now you probably won't for a period after surgery.

If you haven't now start walking some people say it takes 21 days to create a habit and if you create a habit of a morning or nightly 30 minute walk it will be easier to do it post-op.  In fact if you have the habit prior to surgery you may get frustrated when you are unable to or just lack the energy to.

what to have on hand
SF Pudding,
SF Jello (My surgeon counts it as fluid),
SF Popsicles (My surgeon counts them as fluid),
Low Fat or Fat Free creamed Soups.
Cream of Wheat.

I lived on these for about 3 weeks along with protien drinks.
