10 days Post-Op / First Post
I had surgery on Thursday 8/26 and came home on Saturday the 28th. So far I have had zero pain from the surgery.
Had 2 weeks of full liquid diet pre-op and 1 week of it post-op. 2 days ago I got to incorporate creamy soups. Can't wait for next thursday so I can start eating soft foods.
At my heaviest I was 455lbs. The day of surgery I was down to 347. I was able to lose that much by cutting dairy out of my diet and overall eating a lot healthier.
I was surprised that I gained 9 pounds while in the hospital but I guess that is normal.
As of today (9/5) I am down to 338. A year ago when I met my surgeon for the first time he said a good goal for me would be 250 but I'm aiming for 200 right now and hopefully lower than that.
I know I haven't been walking as much as I should be but that will pick up now that it is cooling off a little here in Houston.
I'm usually a lurker on message boards but hopefully I will become an active poster.
