Hi to the guys
Hi Guys
Just signing in as I have just joined the site {reccommened by boldham} I have had a sleeve gastronomy done 28th November 2008,and sheduled to have the second stage {duodenal switch} on the 31st on August 2010.
Lost quite a bit of weight so far, but hit a plateau,so the surgeon put me forward to the 2nd stage as I still have a way to go.

Hallo,
Who is your surgeon? Good job on choosing the DS, btw ... Please keep us posted on your progress ..
(btw, it's "gastrectomy" .. although I guess if we're big enough "gastronomy" might be a more applicable term for it )

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "
HW/461 LW/251 GW/189 CW/274 (yep, a DS semi-failure - it happens :-( )
I'm glad to see that they are doing more DS's in the UK. I know for a while they were pushing the lap band for everyone, and that just isn't right for a person that is SMO.
Anyway congrats on your success to date. I can tell you from my personal experience the DS was a great surgery for me. It isn't perfect (no weight loss surgery is) but it has helped me lose 300 lbs and keep it off for 4 1/2 years.
