Next I am scheduled for an all day session with my doctor, his staff, and some additional testing all on Sept. 15. Is this normal?

Then the RNY surgery will be scheduled, they said within 1 month of Sept. 15. My first appointment with my surgeon was around May 15 so it has taken a long time to just get this far.

Good luck to both of you.  It's one heck of ride you have in front of you.

the time you wait from your first contact with the surgeon's ovvice to the time of your surgery varies.  Way back in 2000, I first saw my surgeon in July and had RNY in Nov.  However, there were many people waiting 12-18 months to have their surgeries.  There were not a lot of qualified surgeons back then.

Now, you can look at this forum and some others and get an idea of what you will be going through.  I suggest looking at the Diet and Nutrition Forum.  It's an instructional Forum except for the polls about various foods, i.e., members ratings of taste o protein shakes for example.
