Fun exercise

Went back to the lap pool today. First time in a LONG time. It was fun and felt great!

Back to the Lap pool that's great!  How long  after surgery did you have to wait before the doctor allowed you to go into a pool?  I hopefully will be having my RNY surgery within a month and also enjoy swimming laps which is one form of exercise that I am able to maintain because of my love of the water.

I actually had approval last week at my 2 week post op visit. I had RNY laprosocpic with a robot. The incisions healed up really well. I took it slow, just taking my time with the laps.  I also like using a mask & snorkle when I swim.  It helps me maintain my breathing and I do not have to twist at all.

You will feel tired alot as your body gets used to less intake. The first week I hardly left the recliner. Thank heavens for my laptop!  Also I have found that I need incentive to get motivated. While I know I can walk, its like Oh do I really want to go out in the heat? Walking has never been my forte so being able to swim adds something I really enjoy.

My doc sayz no pool or tub for 3 weeks~ also no ocean/lake  due to bacteria in water~

  You might ask him about Therma skin (sp?) bandages. They are a transparent dressing my wife used when she had her knee surgery.  Be sure to put a 2 x 2 or 4 x 4 over the incision.  They are water proof and seal real well.  What knd of surgery did you have? Laproscopic?
