Well today is two years post op.

I don't post or visit this website much any more but it was an extremely important part of my journey leading up to surgery and following.  It probably wouldn't hurt for me to check in more often as I have returned to some behaviors that got me in trouble to begin with.

The reality is that I am doing fairly well and hovering around 195.

This summer I have completed a triatholon, run a marathon, a ten mile race, four 10K races, and a 5 K race.  My wife and I are training for an upcoming 10k and half marathon in September. I am also part of a bike club and have logged well over 1000 miles on my road bike this summer.

Life is good overall and the surgery has been a blessing.  Excercise has kept the weight off.  I'm eating quite a bit these days.

Last week I accomplished one more dream that I had wanted to do.  I road all the roller coasters at Cedar Point in Ohio.  Four years ago they wouldn't let me on many of them because I wouldn't fit.  I hated the long lines but loved the ride.

Congratulations friend, you have turned into a new person.  I'm glad you are re-energized and doing all those things that you couldn't or wouldn't before.  See you on the ski slopes in December !!!  Maybe you should start racing with me on Tuesday nights???

Yeah, I'll probably see you a couple times on the slopes.  I didn't buy a season pass this year because I have decided to focus on learning how to do cross country skiing.  If you know anyone that has some used cross country skiis let me know.

congratulations!  Exercise does seem to be one of the keys to successful weight loss.  Bicycling and walking seem to be the most accessible and stress free.  I do compliment nthose of you who do  longer rides, biathlons, nd trithlons.  They are good for you.
but, if you have not exercised, you have to gradually build yourself up.  All can do now is walk but that's a start--I  was exhausted in just walking from one room to the next prior to WLS.
