Inspired
I was inspired by "Shore to lose" today...
"I lost a lot so far, BUT I have been busting my ass to do it. Making the most of my time off. I'm not sitting around letting the surgery do all the work, then after the "honeymoon" stage, start working out."
I signed up for my former health club today and did a 25 minute mile on the treadmill. I'll be back tomorrow. I have my 2 week surgeons appt tomorrow afternoon and I am hoping she lets me go swimming. They have a pool and I enjoy swimming. While I have walked a bit over the last 2 weeks, the hil outside my house makes it a struggle.

They usually clear for swimming around 6 weeks. With surgery on 7/20 are your incisions even healed yet? Don't worry, take it easy and and give yourself time to heal. You have the rest of your life to swim, run, bike, etc. Keep walking though.... every bit of exercise helps.
I'm allowed to hit the pool when I am 4 weeks out, funny I am allowed to mow the lawn before I am allowed to go in the pool.
Pace yourself and don't over do it. I used to do a 4 mile walk in the mornings before surgery which took about 1 hour 15 minutes, I don't have a tread mill so the hilly country road is my walk. Surgeon has cut that to 30 minutes which is long enough to get me to the top of the hill and then home. I am looking forward to getting back to my full walk and know I will have to work back up to it but following the doctor's plan is the best way to succeed with no problems.
