One less concern
I'm 60 and my wife is 58. I see several doctors on a regular basis. And, she hadn't seen any doctor for any reason in over 10 years. I was hoping there was nothing wrong with her, but her family has a history of some forms of cancer. I thought it would be better to find out and treat it at an early stage rather than find out that it was too late to do anything.
Well, almost 2 wks ago I had my doc's last appt of the day. I had my wife drive me there because it was a typical HHH day--hazy, hot, & humid--and my car doesn't have AC. She was in the waiting room and I asked my doc to take her blood pressure. She had failed a brief physical for a clerical position and didn't know why. She suspected her blood pressure. Well, my doc checked her blood pressure and it was high; he gave her a small blister pack of meds to take. She made an appt to see aother doc in the next couple of days during regular hours. As a result of the tests so far, she now knows that she has high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and is borderline diabetic. At least these are all treatable conditions. She's going for a mammogram.
I'm just relieved that she's finally seeing a doctor for my sake. I get very anxious and was pointing out that she wouldn't want to be left in my care.
