Going for PCP Approval and referral today...
You are doing great . I'm impressed with your presurgery effort. I hope you get approved for insurance. I'm Canadian, so didn't have to worry about private insurance coverage. All surgery costs were covered although it took about a year of waiting and tests etc before I actually got the surgery. Wish I'd done it 20 years ago..
Here's hoping you get a surgery date soon.

Thanks Paul,
I appreciate the good words. Unfortunately I was delivered a small delay of several weeks. My Dr. decided I need a pulmonary function test . Which of course I can't get done for 3 weeks. So I'll be cooling my heels waiting for that. I am hoping they can still request approval from the Insurance without it, but we'll see.

This process is full of delays. from first appt until surgery was close to 9 months for me. As for the additional test don't sweat it, better safe than sorry. My surgeon actually requires sign off by GI, Pumonary, And Cardio specialists AFTER insurance approval. My Pulmonary and GI went smooth but I had a funky in office EKG which required 3 additional tests and an additonal 3 weeks of having those tsts and then a review of the tests. I had to have an ABI, Nuclear Stress and a Echo. THey were concerened that the results of my echo showed a higher than usual heart rate until I informed them that there was less than 20 minutes between the Treadmill and Echo.
I recieved my final sign off on my Birthday and then had the wait to get on the shedule.
Trust me the hardest wait is once everyone has said yes and you are waiting for your date.
Keep your spirits up and pushing forward.
